Unicaf University Newly Registered Students Receive Free Windows 10 Tablets

The beaming smiles on 47 young faces filled the lecture amphitheatre of the Unicaf University Malawi Campus in Lilongwe with joy and hope, on the morning of Thursday, January 19. It was the ceremony of the presentation of newly registered students of the University with complimentary Windows 10 tablets.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Rector of the University, Professor Joseph Kuthemba, welcomed the students and invited them to use this opportunity to discover the facilities on offer, and to interact with faculty and fellow students. He underlined that the University is presenting new students with free tablets and UNICAF scholarships for the second time in less than a year, and he congratulated the students for their smart choice to join Unicaf University, a centre of academic excellence recognised internationally.

Overjoyed to receive her free tablet, Sarah Machila, an MBA student, said it will help her access the internet after office hours, when she plans to do most of her studying. She also said that she she was encouraged to enrol by the UNICAF scholarship she was offered and by the international recognition Unicaf University enjoys. As to how she sees herself after graduation, Sarah replied “10 times better than what I am at the moment. To be a senior manager in my organisation or even to be the employer, all things being equal.”

Tamanda Sauka chose Unicaf University for the blended learning mode of delivery, (a combination of online and traditional class room teaching), and she dreams of becoming a successful career woman to assist her family. “The MBA qualification from Unicaf University”, she said, “will provide me with good leadership, management and communication skills, all vital in the daily operation of any organisation.”

New student Thokozani Chataika expressed his gratitude for the scholarships offered by UNICAF, which enable young people with financial difficulties to study at university and improve their lives. “I decided to enrol with Unicaf University to achieve my dreams” he said, adding that with the free tablet he will have access to the internet at all times, to do coursework and submit assignments. After graduation Thokozani expects “to be a reliable administrator, making informed decisions that will help improve the revenues of my employer, that will later help improve the economy of the country at large.”
