Aim of the Programme
This programme aims to equip students with integrative thinking combining intuition, analytical reasoning and imagination, and link it with transformational leadership capabilities including systems approach for them to become successful leaders in public health. The curriculum is designed to help students develop key knowledge, competences and capabilities integrating a range of perspectives relevant to the public health system in which they will be operating.
Programme Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this programme, students will be able to:
- Apply advanced and integrated understanding of the complex processes that drive public health sector and contribute to the development of new knowledge through use of appropriate research principles and methods as well as provide consultancy services to the relevant agencies and organizations;
- Promote public health information and strategy to specialist and non-specialist audiences using a range of modes;
- Identify and use appropriate skills and technology tools to locate, curate and disseminate information relevant to the operation of public health and health services;
- Analyse complex organizational issues that underpin the functioning of public health services;
- Provide leadership in the practice of public health;
- Apply problem-solving skills to conceptualize, construct and recommend short and long-term solutions to public health problems rocking the globe;
- Progress excellently in their profession and career in public health and related fields like International Health and Global Health;
- Demonstrate ability to work in teams in a wide range of organizational contexts;
- Adapt to diverse social, cultural and environmental contexts through professional and ethical practice.
