Unicaf University Sponsors School Competition in Malawi

Unicaf University is sponsoring the 2017 Quiz and Poem school competition – “Lilongwe Got Brains!”, organised by the Junior Chamber International, JCI, Lilongwe Chapter, which is a non-partisan, youth development volunteer group.

The key objectives of the school competition are: 

  • to nurture English writing and speaking skills among students
  • to reveal the broad talents of students
  • to increase awareness about JCI and recruit interested students as members
  • to encourage the art of community based volunteering 

The competition for the Lilongwe Chapter of JCI took place at Bwaila secondary school on the 14th of October, in the presence of the Mayor for Lilongwe City, His Worship Dr Desmond Bikoko, who was the Guest of Honour.

T-shirts, caps and pens bearing the Unicaf University logo were offered to the members of the competing teams and information leaflets, outlining the wide range of quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes available from Unicaf University were distributed.

In this first round of the competition, between the teams of Lilongwe Girls Secondary School and Mkwichi Secondary school, the latter emerged as the winner.
