Unicaf University students take a study break to Zomba Dam

Situated in the eastern region of Malawi, the scenic and historic city of Zomba was the selected location for a day out for Blantyre-based students of Unicaf University. The area is home to several national habitats including the Mulunguzi Dam in the heart of the famous Zomba Plateau. The area also houses and is an important preservation zone for the local butterfly population.

The trip was designed to bring together Unicaf University students with the intention of building a student support network. In addition, it is hoped that students would take advantage of the services offered by Unicaf University’s office in Blantyre.

The Zomba Plateau is the region’s major tourist attraction. Activities offered include hiking, horse riding, rock-climbing, fishing and mountain-biking. Unicaf University students spent the day discovering the surrounding beauty, taking photo opportunities and selfies and ending the day with a well-deserved barbeque.
