Online Experience

If you choose to study online, you will be given full, 24/7 access to the Unicaf  state-of-the-art digital platform, the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). However, studying for an online degree may also raise questions and concerns, especially if this is your first time doing it and you may be uncertain about what to expect and how the process will unfold.

Rest assured that your success-team will walk you through the entire process upfront and will be there to support you every step of the way, from first contact to graduation.

To answer some of the questions you may have regrading online learning here are some brief highlights.

Highlights of Online Learning

  • Your classes will take place in an online environment. You can log in any time, at your convenience. Once online, you’ll communicate with your instructors and fellow students, read assigned texts, access digital materials, post assignments and comment on other students’ assignments. While you’re required to log in at least two separate days each week, you will, of course, benefit greatly from regular and more frequent attendance.
  • Your online course experience will take place on the Virtual Learning Environment, an advanced learning management system designed to optimize the learning experience of our students. Through the VLE you will be able to interact with faculty and fellow students, and have access to digital libraries with e-textbooks, offering you the capability to highlight, annotate, create bookmarks, search, download and self-assess.
  • You will also use the VLE to communicate with advisers, teaching assistants and instructional specialists.
  • Module sequences begin each month, so you can enrol and commence your studies immediately, putting you that much closer to your graduation.
  • You will take one module at a time. This advanced method, designed for adults, allows you to concentrate your entire focus on one subject area, before moving to the next, while also allowing you to earn your degree in an accelerated time frame.
  • The degree you earn will hold the same value, acceptance and credibility as any equivalent degree earned in a traditional campus environment.
  • On-campus learning, or supported open learning, is available at the University’s branch campuses, enabling students to benefit from on-campus, face-to-face classes, in addition to online study.
